Sticky chocolate brownies

Sticky chocolate brownies

These sticky chocolate brownies are a godsend for anyone trying to lose weight. Made from five simple ingredients, they can be eaten at any time of the day. They’re completely guilt-free and nestle perfectly within your Fitlap weight loss plan.

The recipe below serves 1 person but I like to up the ante and make 5-10 portions at once. That way I can eat it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or as my mid-afternoon snack for days on end. Try it. You'll understand why. They're also a great healthy bake to share at picnics, barbecues and the office. You can’t go wrong.

Sticky Chocolate Brownie Recipe

Serving size: 1

Calories: 375

  • 25g peanut butter
  • 110g sweet potato
  • 50g ripe banana
  • 10g honey (or maple syrup, for our vegan lovelies)
  • 10g cocoa powder

  • Peel and chop the potato into chunks. Boil until soft, then allow them to cool completely
  • Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/gas 6
  • Add the cooled potato to a food processor and blend until smooth
  • Add the remaining ingredients to the food processor and blend again until smooth
  • Pour the brownie mix into a silicone baking mould and bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the mix still feels a little gooey inside when you poke it with a knife. Like all brownies, it should still have a little wobble to it which will set as it cools
  • Take them out of the oven and leave them in the mould to cool completely - resist the urge to cut into the brownies before they cool
  • Gently remove the brownies from the mould and cut into squares/portions
  • Store in the fridge for up to 4 days
