The diet plan that actually works
Around 2.1 billion of us are obese. That’s about 30% of the entire world population. Worldwide obesity rates are rising, having tripled since 1975, and our waistlines show no sign of stopping. Most of the adult population in the UK are now medically overweight or obese and every year, more than 10,500 people seek hospital treatment for it. With Fitlap diet plan we want to reduce obesity.
So, what does ‘obesity’ mean? Obesity is when we have excessively high levels of fat in our body, so much so that we become vulnerable and predisposed to serious health conditions and disease. Obesity itself won’t kill you, but the conditions and diseases it causes might. Obesity paves the way for life-altering conditions, such as chronic heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, and maternal complications.
Obesity is undoubtedly one of today’s most visible, yet neglected, public health problems and although I would love to debate this on a global scale, we don’t have the time (or word count) for it. So, let’s reign it back in a bit and focus on what we can do to lose weight as individuals. ‘How to lose weight’ is googled more than half a million times each month and the solutions proposed are endless. Surgical weight loss solutions are painful and invasive and fail to address the underlying psychological reasons that may hide behind obesity so it’s no wonder we are searching for simpler alternatives. Record numbers of us are shunning surgery in favor of online weight loss programs that offer the support, encouragement and advice we need to live lighter, happier and healthier lives.
The weight loss market is bursting with plans and promises to help us lose weight. Many of us leap flippantly into diets with great enthusiasm but it’s difficult to make it stick. Maintaining the enthusiasm and motivation we initially felt when we signed up becomes difficult to sustain over time. Life happens, things get in the way and curve balls (heartbreak, health issues, childcare, work and willpower) can throw us spectacularly off-track but you are only a few steps away from having the body you want.
How can I lose weight with diet plan?
Your body has to be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. That means you have to burn more calories than you eat. The key to creating a calorie deficit is to move more or eat less; both will lead to weight loss. A calorie deficit of 300-600 calories per day will lead to an average weight loss of ¼ - ½ kilogram per week. We burn calories at different rates depending on our individual metabolisms, which are determined by gender, age, activity level, and genes so unfortunately this isn’t exact science. Want to put your body in a calorie deficit but don’t have the time, energy or inclination to calorie count? Let Fitlap do the legwork for you. We’ll calculate your daily calorie target count based on your weight goals, so you don’t have to.

Recipes for all occasions
At Fitlap we know that some days are harder than others. There are times when we feel that there just aren’t enough hours in the day and eating becomes purely functional. Fitlap recipes are straightforward and easy to support your healthy eating efforts on even the busiest of days. On the flip side, we know that there are also days when we want to try something new or invest more time in our cooking for a special occasion. And when that happens, we will be there with a selection of insanely good recipes to tantalize your taste buds. Our recipes cater for all occasions and all cooking abilities so whether your cooking skills could give the likes of Gordon Ramsay a run for his money, or if you’re more Gordon Sumner (aka: Sting) than Gordon Ramsay, don’t worry - Fitlap has something for you. Our recipes are straightforward, family-friendly and delicious, yet practical.
Food is incredible. The smells, the flavours, the colours and the satisfaction of a full belly; it really is bliss. But on occasion, we come across a food that we will never make peace with - mushroom haters of the world unite! An effective diet isn’t one that forces you to eat the foods you hate but one that bends and flexes to suit your personal taste buds. Fitlap does exactly that. Each recipe gives you the option to substitute individual ingredients for alternatives. Let’s say you spot a recipe you’d love to give a whirl, but, much to your horror, it has mushrooms in it, and you are a life-long mushroom hater. You can swap the mushrooms for peppers, tomatoes, courgettes, aubergine and more. The list goes on. We’ll even tell you the equivalent amount to use.
Convenience is key
Our ‘swap’ feature takes convenience to a whole other level. Let’s say Fitlap’s latest pancake recipe (yes, there are stacks of pancake recipes waiting patiently for you) calls for maple syrup. Now, you love maple syrup, but it’s late, the supermarket is closed, it’s cold outside, you’re already wrapped snugly in your pajamas and you don’t have any maple syrup… but you do have honey. Simply swap the maple syrup for honey and you’re good to go. Our revolutionary ‘swap’ feature is not only convenient but is incredibly kind to your wallet, too. Some diet plans come at a very high cost. I’m not talking about the initial cost of signing up to a weight loss program but the food shops themselves - they can be heartbreakingly high. Being able to swap ingredients for alternatives means you’re less likely to fill your cupboard with food that you’ll only use once, before burying in the back of your cupboard, never to be seen again.
We don’t discriminate. Vegetarian, vegan or carnivore. Everybody is welcome. Fitlap caters to all dietary preferences and food allergies. We’ve got you all covered.
Diet plan for kids
More than 20% of eleven-year-olds in the UK are obese . Our bones, muscles and metabolism develop significantly during adolescence, but excess fat levels in the body impair our development. Obese children are far more likely to drag excess weight with them into adulthood than those within the normal weight range for their age. And as we get older, it becomes more and more difficult to reverse the effects of obesity, particularly if it is all we have ever known. Obesity is sad at any age, but I can’t help feeling sadder when it comes to our children.
At Fitlap we help people of all ages to live a healthier, happier and fuller life. Family members can be added to your Fitlap plan at no extra cost so that you can feed your family healthy, balanced and delicious meals day in and day out. And once your meal is ready, you can use our handy portion calculator to determine how much of the meal each family member should eat. This feature is guaranteed to put you and your family on the path to weight loss success.
Be part of a community
Weight loss can be a lonely place but belonging to an online community of like-minded people can give us the encouragement, strength and empathy we need to keep pushing towards our weight loss goals. We pride ourselves on building an online community where we can all celebrate our successes and empathise with each other’s lows. Surrounding yourself with those who are going through the same challenges and emotions as you can help keep your weight loss goals on track. No-one should have to face it alone. Lions don’t hunt on their own so why should we? Our online community motivates and inspires through social media support groups, deliciously simple cooking videos, progress photos, user reposts and social media takeovers by our members. Maybe one day soon you could be taking over our Instagram page.
We are not the first people to embark on a weight loss journey and we won’t be the last. The chance that someone within an online community has already asked the same questions that you have or come up against the same challenges you have is high so, they might be able to help you. Our online community allows you to connect with others so that we can all learn from each other’s experiences and progress faster. There are endless tips, tools and even cheats to be found in our online community so what are you waiting for?
Carbs are not the enemy
There are some extreme and medically questionable diets out there that even your doctor wouldn’t recommend. They lure those who are desperately searching for the long-awaited answer or quick-fix to their weight loss woes in, only to disappoint. They promote damaging behaviours that are not sustainable in the short or long-term. Some diets exclude certain food groups or in more extreme cases, exclude food altogether but we would never dream of subjecting you to that. Food is fuel. We must eat enough across all food groups to fuel the maintenance of all our bodily functions, such as breathing, digestion and reproduction, and that is no mean feat! We provide balanced and healthy recipes that supply your body with all the macro and micronutrients it needs to do this effectively, and that is why we include all food groups in our meal plans.
We rise above the sociological stigmas that certain food groups have been tarnished with. We know that carbs are not the enemy. True, they have been typecast as the villain in countless weight loss stories in the past but don’t be fooled; they’re on our side. Carbohydrates are an essential macronutrient and eliminating them from your diet can lead to fiber deficiency, poor gut bacteria production and weight gain. We love all types of food and think you should love it, too. We know that the key to successful weight loss is forming healthy habits and positive attitudes towards food. Eating from all the main food groups promotes a healthy relationship with food so let’s not make life any more difficult than it already is by banning food groups. Carbs do not prevent weight loss so lock the voice that tells you otherwise in a box and throw away the key.
Fitlap makes weight loss manageable. It will transform the way you eat which in turn will transform the way you look and feel. Your journey to a healthier, happier and fitter body starts here. Are you ready to transform your body? Sign up for our free trial here.
